Delta Sigma Phi’s National Fraternity has promoted leadership training initiatives ever since its current Executive Director, Scott Wiley, stepped into office. The National Foundation for the Fraternity raises money from alumni in order to fund events such as The Leadership Institute, Regional Leadership Academies, and the newest initiative which focuses strictly on recruitment, The Summit. This summer Brother Andrew Abernathy and Brother Jared Sink attended the 2008 Leadership Institute held annually in Indiana at Bradford Woods. The retreat required the Brothers to apply early this Spring for only 55 spots. Throughout the 5 days of intense leadership training, Brothers from all over the country not only socialized and got to know one another, but also examined, diagnosed, and sharpened their leadership credentials. By working with carefully-selected leaders from across the country, each brother was allowed the opportunity to learn from one another. Both Brother Abernathy and Brother Sink said it was an “amazing experience” and highly encouraged their chapter Brothers to attend in 2009. The Leadership Institute is yet another way Delta Sigma Phi is dedicated to creating “Better Men. Better Lives.”
